The BEE-VET International conference took place

The final conference under the “Transforming VET in Construction – Innovative Materials for Building and Energy Efficiency” (BEE-VET) project, funded under the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, took place on October 7th, 2022 in RAMADA Sofia City Centre, Sofia, Bulgaria.

 

Over 250 participants from Turkey, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and Bulgaria participated in the event, among them – BEE-VET project partners, experts in Education and Construction, private sector representatives as well as VET teachers.

 

Ms. Nadezhda Tzvetkova, RAABE Bulgaria Company Manager, welcomed the participants in an opening address. She was joined by Ms. Sofia Damyanova – Manager of the “Dual Education in Bulgaria” project in the joint program of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economy and the Austria Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Ahmed Gazi Zeyrek – First Secretary at the Embassy of Turkey in Sofia.

 

The first session of the conference, dedicated to the changing role of the teachers of 21 century, was presented by Mr. Hagen H. Hochrinner, Senior Lecturer in FH Joanneum – University of applied science in Graz, Austria. The audience highly appreciated the topic, as it has been more than relevant recently. Ms. Maria Todorova, expert in Education, spoke about the perspectives before the secondary vocational education and training. She outlined the new skills that are being increasingly sought after by employers – teamwork, communication, negotiation, adaptability, creativity. Ms. Ecaterina Camenscic of RAABE Bulgaria presented to the audience the BEE-VET project, its objectives, results and the developed outputs. The project partner Sofia High School of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy “Hristo Botev” (SGSAG) from Bulgaria represented by Ms. Fani Onhcheva demonstrated how the BEE-VET Digital Toolkit can be employed in the VET classes to deliver innovation teaching methods in Construction. Best practice and experience in use of the BEE-VET Digital Toolkit in Ortaköy 80.Yıl MTAL in Turkey were also presented by Mr. Ercan Küçükarslan.

 

To outline the private sector perspectives in the conference programme also took part Mr. Krassimir Delov of BAUMIT Bulgaria and Mr. Dragomir Tzanev of EnEffect Energy Efficiency Centre. Their presentations were dedicated to the significance of cooperation between business and education, especially in terms of implementing of innovations and R&D in the initial VET.
